What is Watch Gang?

The company is the  brainchild of Matthew Gallagher, a watch lover and entrepreneur. Watch Gang is the world’s largest watch club with around 20,000 members and counting (including Hollywood favorite, Jamie Foxx). Launched in 2016, Watch Gang is a subscription club which delivers a new watch to its members every month at discounted prices up to 70%. Members also have the opportunity each month to win a brand new Rolex or Tag Heuer watch.

After choosing your package and signing up, you have the opportunity to reject some of the watches that you don’t like. This way, you narrow down the selection of watches you receive. However, you keep every watch that you receive. Watch Gang doesn’t allow returns and does not issue refunds if the watch you receive isn’t to your taste.

What kind of watches will I receive?

As above, the value of the watches you receive depends on the package that you’ve chosen. Watch Gang works with a wide range of high quality watches including specialist items such as the Japanese Miyota and the Puredial Space Compass.

Watch Gang Review

To my surprise, my wife signed me up to Watch Gang’s Black Tier as a gift over the weekend. I had heard good things about the company (and the impressive endorsement by Jamie Foxx) and I was excited to finally able to open my first box. Upon receiving my first box, I took possession of the AVI-8 Hawker Hurricane Eagle Squadron limited edition watch. The accompanying leaflet informed me that this watch was inspired by the RAF’s Eagle Squadrons whose work during the early days of World War II included volunteer American pilots.

The watch features a classic face with chain link styling and a solid steel case back embossed with the Eagle Squadron emblem. The dial has a beautiful brushed finish complemented by vintage debossed sub dials and layers of Swiss luminous Arabic indexes. The watch is complete with a domed mineral lens and a classic green strap for a pleasing contrast to the silver colored face, and is powered by multiple Swiss parts.

At just 43mm in diameter, this watch is classy rather than flashy and a welcome addition to my collection. I was happy to discover that the watch came with a leather style case and a metal card featuring the monogrammed insignia. For my monthly subscription, I paid $99.99, and after a little research, I discovered that the watch is currently being sold elsewhere for $467.14.

Watch Gang Pros and Cons

Although I was happy with my new watch, I still have to point out a few pros and cons for this subscription service, and these are:

Pros

Quality – As promised, the watches provided by Watch Gang are of high quality and include some very well known brands.

DeliveryWatch Gang’s products are fully insured and are sent by secure courier to avoid postal mishaps. My watch arrived quickly and without any problems.

Support – Watch Gang’s customer support network is responsive, reactive and extremely professional.

DiverseWatch Gang’s service offers a really diverse, wide range of watches including some which are limited edition.

Cons

Size – The random manner in which the watches are chosen means that the watch you receive may not be a good fit for your wrist. Thankfully, all watches are adjustable so unless you typically have trouble finding watches that fit, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Value – If you love every single watch that you receive then Watch Gang is exceptional value for money due to the savings involved. If, however, you receive a few items that you don’t care for, you cannot receive a refund.

Conclusion

Watch Gang really delivers high quality watches with some huge cost savings. For those of you watch lovers, this subscription service will almost certainly be right up your alley.
